Beginners Yoga and Walking Retreat in The Dales

A superb yoga and walking retreat with the two Sarah B’s set in an area of outstanding natural beauty right on the Nidderdale Way, part of the Yorkshire Dales. Staying at a clean, comfortable bunk house in the Nidderdale Valley, the traditional stone built house has stunning views in a peaceful and rural setting. The yoga and walks are all aimed at beginners (yogis and walkers alike) but the retreat is open to everyone and we welcome people of all levels.

Rise and shine  Yoga in the morning to get you ready for your day and soothing Yin yoga in the evening to ease any aching muscles led by Sarah Blenkhorn. Guided low level walks during the day between 3-4 hours in the local area led by Sarah Booth.

Fabulous home cooked vegan/vegetarian food Friday evening through to Sunday morning (6 meals in total).

Decent walking boots and waterproofs are required and whilst the walks are low level a reasonable level of fitness is required. You can choose how many walks you wish to do , have some quiet time at the bunk barn looking at the stunning views or take yourself off to the lovely local town of Pately bridge.

We will be going to a local pub for food after our walk on Sunday, we would love you to join us. Please note however this is not included in the cost of the retreat.

 

Schedule

Friday 10th July 2020

Meet at the bunk barn at 1130 hrs for a guided walk (details to be confirmed) with Sarah. Bring packed lunch and a drink for this day only. Or option to meet at the bunk barn at 1600 hrs.

1600 hrs approx. Return to bunk barn for tea and cake and time to settle in.

1730 hrs gentle, longer held, stretch and release Yin Yoga and meditation at the local village hall. (this is about a 20 minute walk away along the Nidderdale Way itself. You can choose to drive if you wish).

1930 hrs vegetarian or vegan dinner.

Saturday 11th July 2020

0730 hrs optional cup of tea brought to you in bed by Sarah and Sarah!

0800 hrs pre yoga smoothie, fruit or snack.

0900 hrs Rise and Shine yoga with Sarah (leaving bunk barn at 0840 if walking)

1100 hrs Breakfast.

1200 set off on guided walk with Sarah , packed lunch provided.

1600 hrs approx. Return to bunk barn for tea and cake.

Sunday 12th July 2020

0730 hrs, optional cup of tea brought to you by Sarah and Sarah.

0745 hrs, pre yoga smoothie, fruit or snack.

0830 hrs, Rise and Shine yoga with Sarah (leaving bunk barn at 0810 if walking).

1015 hrs Breakfast.

1145 hrs vacate bunk house for guided walk with Sarah, packed lunch provided.

1600 hrs approx.. optional food at pub (not included in cost of retreat).

 

Your Hosts-

Sarah Blenkhorn is a Senior teacher and has been teaching yoga for 13 years at the Yoga Space in Leeds. She has more recently undertaken 50 hrs. of Yin Yoga training which she now combines with her Yang enthusiasm. She aims to prepare your body, mind and spirit for you daily guided walks and also hopes to release those tired feet, legs, hips and back at the end of the day! Sarah has a love for the outdoors and enjoys taking her two school age daughters up hill and down dale when she is not doing yoga!

 

Sarah Booth has been a yoga practitioner for over 10 years and is a regular at the Yoga Space. Once a runner, Sarah turned to yoga to compliment her sporty endurance training. Over the years she has shifted to being a yogini and outdoor adventurer. When not doing yoga she can be found up a mountain or walking most weekends.

 

Investment-

Early Bird price £199 if booked before 31st March 2020, thereafter £240, includes 2 nights accommodation in bunk beds in shared dorms, all refreshments from Friday evening to Sunday morning included, all yoga and meditation and guided walks.

£100 deposit required to secure your place which is non refundable. Book through Yoga Space website you will then be directed to Sarah Blenkhorn’s email for further instructions.
