Play, Yoga, Teach
This course will be delivered in person by Nichi Green and Georgie McCredie in Otley and at Harewood House for our final day with real children!! Georgie and Nichi met 5 years ago when Georgie took yoga teacher training and kids yoga training with Nichi at The Yoga Space. Their playful energy, creativity and love of working with young people and movement is very evident and infectious. They both believe that every yoga teacher should take this course!! Kids Yoga brings you in touch with your inner child, helps you connect better to yourself and those around you and builds confidence and communication skills. As yoga teachers we need to be in our bodies. We need to be creative, intuitive and authentic. Adapting to the environment and our students. Children are much more tuned in to doing this than adults are. Kids love yoga. They do it naturally and teach us what yoga is actually about- being in the moment.

About Your Teachers
Nichi has been training students for over 18 years and has taught Kids and young people’s yoga in a wide variety of settings including schools, libraries, secure units, festivals and outdoors. She draws from over 30 years’ experience of working with young people in educational, therapeutic and studio environments. With her background in arts and drama the course is well established and uses content that works effectively with children, stimulates their imaginations, develops communication skills and builds confidence. She has run courses at York College of Ripon St John and for Education Leeds as well as at many of the Primary schools in Leeds. Alongside her yoga teaching Nichi is a Dramatherapist with her own private practice.
Georgie is a keen dancer and yogi and is co director of soma- wellness in Otley. Georgie first trained in dance (and from the teeny age of 2!) went to train in classical and contemporary dance at the University of Leeds. Georgie went on to study Dance Movement Psychotherapy and began to deliver a range of creative and therapeutic dance based sessions for people with mental health conditions and learning disabilities. Having practiced yoga from a young age, Georgie thought that to enhance her practice, the fusion of dance and yoga was a good match. She now endeavours to bring yoga and dance to as many as people as she can, as she can see the vital importance it holds over wellness, body image and general soul warmth! Georgie has since trained in kids yoga, pre and postnatal yoga and vinyasa flow. She has two little darlings aged 4 and 8 and runs weekly Kids classes at her studio as well as Kids camps. Georgie has experience in creative and therapeutic dance-based sessions within schools, psychiatric units, hospitals, festivals and theatre/dance companies. Georgie also lectures in the field of dance, play therapy and creative studies at the University of Derby.
