What is Awakening? Ashtanga Workshop

What is Awakening? Ashtanga Workshop
with Joey Miles and Rachel Woolhouse
9am – 4pm | £50

In this all day Ashtanga workshop we’ll explore the question ‘what does it mean to wake up?’ In yoga practice, we know that the ultimate aim is ‘awakening’, but often this seems like an unattainable goal. Perhaps we doubt whether enlightenment is real? In this workshop we’ll address common misconceptions about awakening, the characteristics of the ‘sleep’ state and the awakened state and how we shift from one to the other.

The day will start with guided meditation to allow us to arrive, settle into the space and let go of the need to hurry. In the morning’s led Ashtanga technique class we’ll focus on key alignment points to enliven standing postures and then carry these through as we work into more challenging postures. In the afternoon we’ll begin with a period of contemplation, followed by a gentle winding down through simple restorative yoga postures and guided pranayama.

We hope you will leave feeling uplifted and inspired to practice.
